The fire brigade information day organised by Freiwillige Feuerwehr Vogau brought together local residents, volunteers, and young people for a community-focused event that offered insights into the everyday work of the fire brigade while highlighting the importance of ecological and social sustainability. Through demonstrations, interactive activities, and shared experiences, the event created spaces for dialogue about safety, climate responsibility, and community engagement, while encouraging new generations to become actively involved in voluntary emergency services.
A strong focus was placed on sustainable practices within fire brigade operations and event organisation. Activities included the presentation of regionally produced long-term uniforms, demonstrations using environmentally friendly foam concentrate, and the young firefighters’ tree-planting initiative, which combined climate action with youth engagement and environmental education. Through music, community activities, and practical demonstrations, the event reached around 500 visitors and inspired young people in particular to contribute to the future of the fire brigade and sustainable local development.
