Organized by the Klub belokranjskih študentov (KBŠ)—the Bela Krajina Students’ Club—this initiative successfully promoted sustainability and environmental awareness across generations, with a special focus on youth under 30.

To significantly reduce waste during the events, visitors used reusable cups, while clearly marked waste separation systems and compost bins encouraged responsible waste management on-site. For the youngest participants, the program featured an environmental-themed theater performance alongside creative workshops centered on nature protection.

Agriculture and local heritage also took center stage. A local winemaker presented a newly published book on organic viticulture, encouraging the next generation to embrace sustainable farming while raising awareness about a pressing social issue: the declining number of young people involved in vineyard cultivation.

In tandem, the “Urban Cuisine” initiative brought together local food providers to serve locally sourced dishes, highlighting the vital importance of supporting regional farms and sustainable food production.

These eco-conscious initiatives were paired with live music performances, which proved to be one of the most effective ways to attract, engage, and inspire a vibrant young audience.
