Through hands-on planting and gardening activities, the participants worked together to design and tend the garden, learning how climate-sensitive cultivation can
strengthen the community’s resilience.
The project – developed by the Association for the Promotion of Sanitary and Ecological Education – A.P.E.S.E. – introduced young people to composting and recycling, transforming organic waste into compost and creatively reusing materials such as plastic bottles for decorations and plant supports. A series of educational workshops deepened their understanding of biodiversity, climate change and the sustainable use of resources, whilst green innovation activities included making eco-friendly cleaning products, building insect hotels and creating practical items from recycled materials. The garden now serves as a long-term educational and recreational space for the Malcoci community.
