The Municipality of Straß in Steiermark, located in southern Austria near the Slovenian border and the Spielfeld crossing, has around 6,500 inhabitants.
Straß is part of the tourism association Die Südsteirische Weinstraße, highlighting the region’s strong ties to viticulture and tourism. The municipality is home to many local associations and community groups serving a variety of purposes. Straß is also a member of BTIN and previously participated in the “Snapshots from the Borders” project.
