SUBLIME SDG’s research seeks to deepen understanding of existing gaps in gender equality (GE) and identify opportunities to better integrate GE—aligned with the EU Gender Equality Strategy 2020–2025 and GAP III—into local and national sustainable development policies. Through desk research and expert interviews, ten national reports were produced covering Italy, Malta, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, and Poland. These reports assess existing gender equality frameworks, the implementation of EU strategies by national and local authorities, and sustainable development initiatives that promote GE at the local level. They also evaluate progress toward SDG Target 5c and provide recommendations to strengthen policies and enforcement mechanisms. This transnational report consolidates the key findings to present an overarching view of policy gaps and strategic opportunities across the ten countries.
